Welcome to Amberway II
The Amberway Tradition
Amberway II follows a trail blazed by Fred Wolke's pioneering Amberway campaign, which married the Amber and Everway settings in an Everway PBEM that began in the Spring of 1997. Unfortunately he later fell into the Abyss with Dierdre and Brand.
Amberway II: Years Have Passed in Amber is a successor campaign but not a sequel. Some mechanics are different and the backstory makes it unlikely that either campaign could follow upon the other. In particular, Amberway II dispenses with the Everway mythos that Amberway I made such use of. Years Have Passed in Amber is conceived as a "Young Amberites" campaign of a type perhaps overly familiar to ADRPG players.
Years Have Passed in Amber will be an open message campaign as the original Amberway was. Players will mostly communicate their characters' actions and words directly to the mailing list in a manner reminiscent of "shared story-telling" games. Peruse the original Amberway Archives on Onelist for a sense of the etiquette and possibilities of the style.
