Uses of the Fortune Deck

The gamemaster uses it as a randomizer to help resolve actions when he feels like it.

Trump artists add their creations to the fortune deck to make their trump deck.

Players use fortune cards to describe their PC during character creation and shadow writeups.

Characters can use trump decks or fortune decks for divination. (If they have them.)

The Cards

The fortune deck comprises 36 cards that represent the cosmic forces acting on existence, from entire shadows down to individual mortals. 35 of the cards are ubiquitous. The 36th card is the Usurper and varies from sphere to sphere and even realm to realm - it represents a unique influence in the current region. Every card has a title, an upright meaning and a reversed meaning. Most cards also have one or more associations, with an element, a zodiac sign and so on.
