Aboard the "Morning Glory",12 days after 3rd moon, Year of the hare. I spent the night explaining to a wood-headed carpenter how I wanted him to help me make some more boomerangs. As it turned out, I will have to make them myself. Tired as I was, I went to our ship, the "Morning Glory". On board, Starwind (she tries very hard not to show that she is a girl, why I don't know) was chosen as first mate, and Tempest as second. I didn't know that loading a ship was a so tedious business. Behemoth gave me a good laughter though. He seems to me as quite competent, but he maintains a face of total indifference and incompetence. As he boarded the ship he acted seasick, although he ship still was in the harbour, and he certainly is more than comfortable with water and sailing. The haughty Tempest failed to see this. Behemoth obviously don't want anyone to ask any questions about him, trying to chaes me off by claiming he housed body lice. Tempest took that one seriously though, so the good Behemoth had to wash himself with some really stinking substance. At that point I almost laughed myself to death. Later Tempest and Stranger had a heated argument in Strangers cabin. What they told each other I don't know, but they struggeled hard, even the elements were involved. After a while Tempest came out, boiling with rage, and a wild fiery being raging inside. Nearly frightening me out of my skin, he had the good sense to jump into the water to cool off. It took a while for him to come back. I'd better keep an eye on that one, so that thing inside doesn't take him over again. Fisher, a warrior with as far as I can tell some divinatory ability, dragged of some of the others to a tavern a while before we where to set sail. He seems not to like Stranger very much. In fact he gathered the lot of us while Tempest where in Seekers cabin for a second time, to tell us he thought Stranger was an evil being, hoping us to help him in some fight. There could be some truth in that. In the evening we decided that each of us should tell a story about Amber, one story per evening, to make the time go. Fisher started, and turned out to be a master storyteller. The watches where also assigned, I am supposed to be in the white watch, with Starwind, Seeker and 4 sailors. At least all in the watch seems fairly sensible. . . . . . . Aboard the "Morning Glory",13 days after 3rd moon, Year of the hare. Things seems to have calmed down on board as everyone finds his/her place in the crew. Stranger seems more open and informative now when we are out at sea; he invited me to see his journals, so I could look for hints of the whereabouts of the rotmos bird. I begin to like that man, although I haven't found anything yet. As young Puma cannot read or write, I will look for some hints to his quest as well. Seeker wants to learn to use the boomerang. He seems gifted, so I will try to give him proper instruction. It seems we have a collection of fairly good musicians on board, late last night we played together. I don't know if that is proper use of our ancient ancestors' digeridoo, but the spirits seemed pleased, so I guess no harm was done. Delve will be the storyteller for tonight. Aboard the "Morning Glory",14 days after 3rd moon, Year of the hare. Today we reached the seaway gate to the lagoon. Tempest had us prepared for all kinds of attacks, but he hadn't anticipated that our enemy on the other side of the gate would be the weather. We went through only to find ourself in the middle of a storm, threatening to blow us up on a coral reef. Judging both from my own senses and from Stranger's comments this storm was not natural. Scary! It seems like some of us need more training to become good sailors; Behemoth in his folly cut loose a sail he defenitely shouldn't have cut, and made both sail and boom fall down on deck. That boneheaded man rightfully earned almost all the curses that action rendered from Starwind and Tempest. I at least had the nerve to wait for orders from the sailing-wise before messing with the sails. Starwind on the other hand seems to have a good hand with the wind, she actually managed to calm down the storm for a few minutes. Good Girl! In the end, with most of the crew totally exhausted, we managed to get out of the lagoon alive. Now we run with the wind, how far we have traveled from our planned course I do not dare to guess. Stranger got hit in the head by the railing during the gate passage, and is now laying unconscious in his cabin. So here we are, lost on an unknown sphere, with the only navigator among us disabled. Well, we'll have to manage.
