9. Sky, without any cloud but with two dragons. Red one is bleeding from many wounds, green one seems almost unhurt but is incredibly twisted, apparently trying to dodge stream of fire coming from Red one. This is a scene that keeps returning to Turtle's dreams. He feels strongly for the green one, but the dragon never manages to pull the victory fully before the dream ends. Most people he has told about this dream have told him to see the whole thing as symbolic. But what are the dragons symbols for? 12. This is a picture of a little dark-skinned child, holding a turtle by the neck. The child is a bit plump, with a swelling stomach, black curly hair and pointed ears. On his left arm the child wears a bracelet of copper; the child wears nothing else except for a loincloth. The grip on the passive turtle (dead?) is firm. This little episode is what gave Turtle his name. His mother had told him to gather the fruits from the thorny dust-bush, when he came home with the Turtle:-Couldn't we eat this instead? When the time for his naming ceremony came, the elders of the tribe thought it very funny to remind the full-of-himself boy of that embarrasing event. 74. The moment of eclipse: The dark moon is just about to completely cover a large, red sun. When this strange eclipse showed over the lands of Turtle's people, he decided to start searching for the rotmos bird, the long lost totem creature of his tribe. Eleven years later he still hasn't found it... 82. The storm clouds hovered over the mountaintop, threatening their downpour in minutes, maybe seconds. Trees along the ridgeline bent all together with the wind's force, as if all of them had suddenly begun to bend and pray. On top of the grass-covered bald peak a figure stood, looking up into the sky, casually, as if accustomed to nature's displays of power. Turtle is extremely well-attuned with nature and all facets of it, and will not be disturbed by a mere rainstorm. He grew up in a rather dry climate, and therefore he likes rain very much, almost to the brink of worshipping. A good shower will make him happy and content. 104. A dark-skinned man is standing here, underneath the lintel of huge megalithic structure. There is a look of anxiety on his face. Around the giant stones of the structure, a number of wraith-like forms fill the nightly air, surrounding the man on all sides. When Turtle began to feel the spirits that fill the wold, he got more than a little afraid, and still the presence of strong spirits will make him uneasy, knowing the power they wield. Sensing their presence will not help you resist them if they want to hurt you...And still he seeks help from the spirit world in his quest... |
DescriptionTurtle is lean, almost to the point of being skinny, and a little bit over middle height. His only clothing is normally a loincloth (Except when visiting a very cold realms); showing much of his very dark, tatooed skin. The tatoos are all white, consisting of various signs and patterns. On his right and left forearm respectively a bird and a turtle is tatooed. Often he also paints his face with different patterns.
Group AffiliationsTurtle is a member of the The Wizards' Convention. (Not that he cares very much about that...) Turtle Speaks of his Tribe and his QuestMy people, the rotmos tribe, live in the desert and bushland on a hot continent, among other tribes. Each tribe has it's own totem creature, the rotmos tribe being a bit odd, having a totem that has not been seen for hundreds of years. We believe in the various spirits of nature and our totem creatures. The idea is that the totem helps the tribe in various ways. My tribe lives off hunting and gathering, and is led by a group of "elders". We share food and other needed things in the tribe; each person only has a few personal belongings, I for example have my boomerangs and a few small personal things, while the digeridoo I carry belongs to the tribe. I didn't know anything about money or such until I left the tribe. The legends and old paintings tells us about a large, green, eagle-like bird with two long red feathers protruding from the back of it's head. The bird is said to be very wise. The eclipse upset the people of my tribe; we saw it as an ill omen, and decided it was time to find our totem again. Since I was best fitted for this hunt I chose to try. I certainly hope the tribe fares well in my absence; I will not return until I have found the bird. When I left the desert I encountered other people, for example people believing in gods. I still have some problems with understanding the concept of gods, but with time I have come to see gods as other peoples replacement for totems. People outside the desert tends to complicate things too much, but otherwise I like most of them. Turtle Walks the PatternTurtle grins towards Seeker:"So be it. I'll walk it now; let's hope we end up in the same place." Turtle makes a mock bow and takes his first bold steps on the pattern. The before dark room illuminates by a strong red-yellow light. A dry hot wind blows Turtle in the face. He continues taking his steps forward. "This was not too hard." he mumbles to himself. The wind contiues to blow straight into his face. Does it carry sand? "I should have brought my water bottle, one should always bring water. Damn." Turtle feels his throat going dry. The heat get more intense, and the wind continues to blow. "Wasn't the floor flat??" Turtle exclaims as he feels himself walking up a steep hill, still following the pattern. He pants heavily, trying to keep his mouth shut to keep the moisture from escaping as he passes the first veil. "Ah, on the top at last." Turtle smiles, but the wind is still there, so is the heat. "What?!" The whirlwind is sudden, carrying a lot of sand into the eyes of Turtle. He fights very hard to keep his eyes on the pattern path despite all the sand. He tries to shield them with his hand, but the sand finds its ways inside, causing tears to flow from his eyes. Finally the air clears, and Turtle sighs, thinking of all the water he has already lost. He is sweating enormously, and a tearing headache burns in is head due to the dehydration. Not very far away he can see a large, still, glittering pool, with a strange bird hovering over it. Turtle grins and then laughs; "Hah, that I should find water and the Rotmos bird here on the pattern." However the short trip to the pool is very hard to walk. When he finally gets there, dragging his feet behind him, slumping of thirst, the pool and the bird vanishes. "An illusion. Delve would laugh." Turtle sobs and nearly stops as he walks through the third veil. As he enters the grand curve, the wind dies. Left is a terrible heat. Turtle tries to shield his head from the sun´with his hands. That is futile, of course, but he keeps moving on at a incredibly slow pace. "Water, I need water.." he croaks. Then suddenly he reaches the center of the pattern. He tries to clear his head. "Where did I want to go?...."He shakes his head "Ah, Seeker, Fiona and Behemoth." Turtle tries to envision the place where Behemoth and Fiona are waiting... from the campaign record by Olof Dahl
