When we say "selective"......we mean we're not going to list every Everway or Amber site
we can find. Instead we'll list places that already list
every Everway or Amber site they can find. Plus a handful of
favorites. We also have some pages our participants created
or recommend. Most of them are gaming or SF-related.
when the Amberway list was hosted by eGroups? Wondering where we went? We're on the whiterose.org server now. (No ads!) You can still subscribe by e-mailing the Whiterose webmaster. The list is not currently automated, so just ask to be added to the subscription list. Amber LinksThe Golden Circle - The chi-chi Amber web ring. They have more than a hundred member pages listed, so they're a great jumping off point. MaBarry's Amber Links Page - the other reason (along with the Golden Circle) why we're not doing comprehensive Amber links ourselves. It's actually easier to find what you're looking for on Meera's list, though she probably has fewer links than the Circle people. The Loose Ends campaign home page - Amazingly enough, two Amberway players are in this face-to-face Amber campaign. Site by the Amberway webmaster. Amber - The Eternal City, by Arref Mak - Most people love this site for its images, but I love his essays and tables comparing attributes and artifacts. Some terrific campaign material and speculation on Amber cosmology too. But Arref - lose the music, 'kay? You're messing up my Imagineradio feed! Amber Conflict Resolution - This terrific page is part of a very large site. It sets up a nice if debatable system for determining how long fights should last, with a healthy helping of Endurance effect. It has changed the way I think about Amber combat. Everway LinksOur Everway HTML Character Sheet Template - If you like our character sheets, we have a sample you can modify. Go to the bottom of that page to download a zipfile of the whole package - graphics, html file and style sheet. Rubicon Games - The publishers of Everway. You have to love the fact that they're in there pitching. They publish Arcana, a regularly updated, free webzine of Everway material. Just make sure you don't sexually harass any editors with your freelance submission! Rob Barrett's Everweb - The place to start your surfing through the Thousand Worlds. Includes links, characters, magic, powers, quests, realms and even, to my surprise, a contribution by me. Michael Richter's page - I'm especially high on Michael's short essay, "Sharpening Focus," which introduces character concept statements and tells how they can be used to adjudicate Everway actions. Fonts for Freaks - If you're going to "do" Everway, you need the Bard font. That's all there is to it. Everway Family Legends Project - Accounts of the great Everway (city) families. Has that semi-official feel to it. It's a fan site, but Everway designer Jonathan Tweet himself is contributing the Host family writeup. Is Amberway's Everway based on the Legends material? Wouldn't we love to know! Hey, speaking of which - Rubicon maintains a Tweet bio page. The official word on the designer of some of our most innovative and enjoyable games. Player's ChoiceSteve's Rosewar Site - Not Amber, not Everway, not role-playing. But you have to figure the Lancastrians and Yorks did their share to inspire Roger Zelazny's original vision of Amber. Rosewar is a play-by-(snail)mail sim of the War of the Roses. Cool! Gene Wolfe Site by Paul Duggan - Excellent fan site on a superb writer whose series, The Book of the New Sun, inspired the character of Delve. (Meaning, I swiped from Wolfe big time. And Everway might be just the system for a New Sun campaign...) Has a news & rumors page! Hey, Paul Duggan is not an Amberway participant - don't get the wrong idea! |
